Dokubo faulted IPOB for saying he was behind the reported extradition of its leader from Kenya. Kanu and Dokubo have been at loggerheads over the quest for Biafra — the very cause that unites them. The cold war between them resulted in the formation of the Biafra Customary Government (BCG) which Dokubo announced in March 2020 with himself as the head. Reacting on Sunday during a Facebook live, Dokubo said: “IPOB said I was the one that sold them out, that I betrayed them, am not the one who said it. They are also the one that said I betrayed their leader in Kenya.  “I don’t know where Nnmadi Kanu was living; I don’t know where he took off for. They said I was the person who gave him up. I now said

The group said those working against the gentleman pact of the rotational presidency between the North and South in 2023, should be aware of the fact that changing the narratives with falsehood and fallacies temporarily for inordinate ambition will have disastrous consequences if they achieve their plans by 2023. The Igbo socio-cultural organization warned that the North must consider the security implications of retaining power beyond 2023 and without any options, voluntarily concede power to the south for the interest of peace and stability, “except if they have decided to set the nation ablaze and sink it.” In a statement signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, its Secretary-General, Ohanaeze said Igbos have been pushed out o

An open letter to Charles Chukwuma Soludo: By Olasupo Abideen  BY OLASUPO ABIDEEN Dear Governor, We have been conditioned to believe for a long time that it is easier to walk a camel through the eye of a needle than find a technocrat with an astute academic background holding an executive office in Nigeria. Only an insanely small number of determined, highly educated, well-traveled, and very grounded persons like yourself have been able to achieve this. For that, I want to congratulate you on your emergence as the executive governor of Anambra state; for being a beacon of hope to so many young Nigerians, technocrats, and as a signal to the old guards that the future has started. Sir, it goes without saying that as a governor in one of Nigeria’s troubled regions, there is a lot of work to be done. But your emergence, nonetheless, is a tell-tale sign that just maybe, future elections in Nigeria may start to follow the direction of the Anambra election. Your campaign towards your emergen

Gas stoves in kitchens pose a risk to public health and the planet, research finds

Gas-burning stoves in kitchens across America may pose a greater risk to the planet and public health than previously thought, new research suggests.   The appliances release far more of the potent planet-warming gas methane than the Environmental Protection Agency estimates, Stanford University scientists found in a study published Thursday in the journal Environmental Science and Technology. The appliances also emit significant amounts of nitrogen dioxide, a pollutant that can trigger asthma and other respiratory conditions. Scientists and climate activists have increasingly urged homeowners to switch to all-electric stoves, water boilers and other appliances, even as the natural gas industry fights in New York and across the country to keep the signature blue flames of gas-burning stoves as a staple in American homes. The researchers in Thursday’s study measured emissions from stoves in 53 homes across seven California counties. They used their findings to estimate that methane emis

Tesla has also been planning to build a humanoid robot called the Optimus that would assist in tasks around the factory or perform other types of “repetitive” wor
