2023 ELECTIONS:PDP NWC Meets Obasanjo .....

 The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday met former President Olusegun Obasanjo for party matters and the forthcoming 2023 general elections;


The NWC team, led by National Chairman of PDP, Ayu Iyorchia Ayu, which arrived around 11:57 am entered a private meeting with Obasanjo at his Penthouse within the sprawling Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The elder statesman, an hour earlier, had participated in an interdenominational and interfaith service at Oba Adisa Odeleye Park, Abeokuta, in honour of the late Olowu of Owu Kingdom.

The meeting is still holding with the PDP bigwigs at the time of filing the report.

The PDP leaders in attendance were former Ondo Governor Dr. Segun Mimiko; former Cross River Governor Donald Duke; his successor; Liyel Imoke; 2019 PDP vice presidential candidate Dr. Peter Obi; former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido; former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri and former Kogi Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi among others.

St Anthony’s Catholic Comprehensive Institute Agulu Victorous again...

  Some students of St Anthony’s Catholic Comprehensive Institute wrote their names on the history book as they emerged victorious in the just concluded Awka Dioceasan quiz competition sponsored by the catholic bishop of the diocese, Most Rev PC Ezeokafor.  The mangager Rev.Fr. Val Ezenduka with the participants. The competition started at the region level. All the catholic secondary schools in Awka Catholic Diocese participated at their various level.  St Anthony’s Institute was not left out, as some of the students represented the school at Adazi region. They emerged the winner at that level which qualified them to partake at the diocesan level.  The diocesan level took place at St John of God catholic secondary school, Awka on the 1st of February, 2022. BREAKING NEWS:I Don’t Want To See Nnamdi Kanu In These Clothes Again – Judge Orders DSS

  Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has given an order to the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to change his clothes; Previously, Nyako had directed the DSS to allow the IPOB leader to have his bath whenever he wanted to, change his clothes, eat properly and practise his faith. However, at the court session on Tuesday, the newly introduced Kanu's lead counsel, Mike Ozekhome, complained that his client was still being subjected to poor treatment in DSS custody. He said Kanu was still being kept in solitary confinement and that any other detainee who greeted him was also kept in solitary confinement. Shortly before adjourning the matter, Nyako reminded the defendant that a detention facility was not a five-star hotel. Evans denies being a kidnapper, says ‘police forced me to sign documents; Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, suspected kidnap kingpin all known as Evans, had denied the allegation of his involvement in abducting a certain businessman. While answering questions from Yusuf Sule, the prosecution counsel, during Friday’s court session, Evans said he was forced to sign documents and act in a certain manner as directed by the police. He denied being a kidnapper, adding that he has a transport business with over 30 workers. Evans also denied collecting $420,000 as ransom from the family of one Sylvanus Ahamonu, a businessman, stating that he never met the man until his arrest. Ahamonu and his wife testified via Zoom on December 17.
