BREAKING NEWS:Charles Soludo, Rejects ‘His Excellency’ Title, Opts for ‘Mr Governor’

The  Anambra State governor-elect, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has rejected the title of ''His excellency'' and asked to be referred to as ''Mr Governor'';

Soludo said this on Thursday as he inaugurated members of his 80-man transition committee ahead of his March 17, 2022 swearing-in date.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Awka, the Anambra state capital, Soludo said:

“I was called His Excellency a while ago, but may I plead that, that ‘Excellency’ tag should please wait for now. That is part of what we will discuss in this committee.

You may just need to learn how to call me by my name, but if that isn’t good for you, then, may I request that you simply call me ‘Charlie Nwangbafor’ (Charles, son of Ngbafor).

If that one is so difficult for you that you must be formal in addressing me, then you can address me as Mr. Governor''

  Some students of St Anthony’s Catholic Comprehensive Institute wrote their names on the history book as they emerged victorious in the just concluded Awka Dioceasan quiz competition sponsored by the catholic bishop of the diocese, Most Rev PC Ezeokafor.  The mangager Rev.Fr. Val Ezenduka with the participants. The competition started at the region level. All the catholic secondary schools in Awka Catholic Diocese participated at their various level.  St Anthony’s Institute was not left out, as some of the students represented the school at Adazi region. They emerged the winner at that level which qualified them to partake at the diocesan level.  The diocesan level took place at St John of God catholic secondary school, Awka on the 1st of February, 2022. BREAKING NEWS:I Don’t Want To See Nnamdi Kanu In These Clothes Again – Judge Orders DSS

  Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has given an order to the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to change his clothes; Previously, Nyako had directed the DSS to allow the IPOB leader to have his bath whenever he wanted to, change his clothes, eat properly and practise his faith. However, at the court session on Tuesday, the newly introduced Kanu's lead counsel, Mike Ozekhome, complained that his client was still being subjected to poor treatment in DSS custody. He said Kanu was still being kept in solitary confinement and that any other detainee who greeted him was also kept in solitary confinement. Shortly before adjourning the matter, Nyako reminded the defendant that a detention facility was not a five-star hotel.
