ONUACHU BECOMES FIRST NIGERIAN TO WIN BELGIAN GOLDEN SHOE;

The 27-year-old has been rewarded for his outstanding goalscoring record in the Belgian top-flight last season
Genk striker Paul Onuachu has become the first Nigerian player to win the Belgian Golden Shoe.
Onuachu was crowned at a ceremony on Wednesday night as he beat off Club Brugge duo Noa Lang and Charles Des Ketelaere to the award.
The 2021 award recognises the Super Eagles star's performances for the 2020-21 season where he finished as the First Division A top scorer with 33 goals in 38 matches.
Onuachu becomes the fourth African star to win the award after DR Congo's Dieumerci Mbokani, Ivory Coast's Aruna Dindane and Morocco's Mbark Boussoufa

Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Adjourned 19 January, 2022 The trial of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu stalled on Tuesday after he objected to the fresh charges brought against him by the Federal Government. The Federal Government had filed fresh terrorism charges against the detained leader of the proscribed IPOB leader before the Federal High Court on Monday. Consequently, the initial seven counts bordering on treasonable felony and terrorism, against him, increased to 15.   Some students of St Anthony’s Catholic Comprehensive Institute wrote their names on the history book as they emerged victorious in the just concluded Awka Dioceasan quiz competition sponsored by the catholic bishop of the diocese, Most Rev PC Ezeokafor.  The mangager Rev.Fr. Val Ezenduka with the participants. The competition started at the region level. All the catholic secondary schools in Awka Catholic Diocese participated at their various level.  St Anthony’s Institute was not left out, as some of the students represented the school at Adazi region. They emerged the winner at that level which qualified them to partake at the diocesan level.  The diocesan level took place at St John of God catholic secondary school, Awka on the 1st of February, 2022. BREAKING NEWS:I Don’t Want To See Nnamdi Kanu In These Clothes Again – Judge Orders DSS

  Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has given an order to the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to change his clothes; Previously, Nyako had directed the DSS to allow the IPOB leader to have his bath whenever he wanted to, change his clothes, eat properly and practise his faith. However, at the court session on Tuesday, the newly introduced Kanu's lead counsel, Mike Ozekhome, complained that his client was still being subjected to poor treatment in DSS custody. He said Kanu was still being kept in solitary confinement and that any other detainee who greeted him was also kept in solitary confinement. Shortly before adjourning the matter, Nyako reminded the defendant that a detention facility was not a five-star hotel.
